Feel free to ask us any questions you like via email or facebook, but here are some answers to the things we hear the most.

Why is ‘Green’ misspelled?/Why isn’t it called ‘Green Club’?/What’s a ‘Grean’?

G.R.E.A.N. stands for Grass Roots Environmental Action Now. Technically that’s a misspelling of ‘grassroots,’ and yeah, it’s confusing. But it makes us unique, and we like it.

Wait, so are you ‘GREAN Club’ or just ‘GREAN’?

“I’ve been trying to figure that one out this whole time”
– Julia Grosvenor, current club president

UGH! Why can’t I buy bottled water on campus????

Yeah, that’s on us. You can read more about that here. But you can also blame us for the nice water bottle filling stations around campus!

Also… you didn’t hear this from us, but… you can always just ask for a cup of water at any of the campus coffee stands… We still think reusable water bottles are cooler. Literally, if you have one of those vacuum insulated ones.

GREAN club should *insert your idea here*

Neat! You should come to a club meeting sometime and pitch your idea there, we’d love to help out!

Uh, no, I don’t want to do it, I think GREAN should do it though

I showed up to the normal meeting time and nobody was there??

Oh no! Sometimes, if we are busy or there are schedule conflicts, we will cancel or reschedule a weekly meeting. To be notified about when meetings are, ask to join our email list. In addition, here are some times that we usually do not meet:

  • First week of Fall term
  • Midterms weeks
  • Dead weeks + Finals
  • J term
I signed up to be on the email list/gave you my email, but I haven’t received any emails.

“Whoops. I’m like 99.9% sure I lost your email”
– Julia Grosvenor, current club president, not very organized.

Please send us an email and we’ll be sure to put you on the list this time.

Please send us an email and we’ll be sure to take you off the list this time.

Can I recycle this??

Well, we can’t see what you’re referring to, but give it a shot. Worst cases scenario, it ends up in a landfill, so you don’t loose anything by not throwing it in the trash.

If you are on campus, go ahead and ask Waste Diversion! They can recycle a lot of things that even municipal recycling can’t!

How do I donate to GREAN club?

Oh my, how kind of you! We don’t actually get asked this frequently, but it is a subtle reminder that anyone can donate to GREAN club 😉

Make sure to contact us first before making a donation. If you want it to be a surprise or anonymous, contact PLU Clubs & Orgs or Professor Naasz, our faculty advisor, and ask them not to tell.

Once we sort everything out, donations can be made by cash or check (addressed to Pacific Lutheran University with “GREAN Club” written on the memo line).

Thank you!!!
